Longstanding full-service luxury design studio offering customers a range of services from custom furniture and residential interior design to home staging and furnished rentals with a full-service studio offering an array of meticulously crafted services is looking to hire a Furniture Refurbishing Technician to fulfill the repair and maintenance needs of its products. Hours are Monday - Friday 10:00am - 6:30pm. Salary depends on experience. This position is eligible for RJ-Staffing bonus pay while temp, and, when position becomes permanent, company offers comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, vision, 401(k), and PTO.
Responsibilities:
-Skillfully assemble and disassemble a variety of furniture pieces, including sofas, tables, chairs, and bedroom sets, following manufacturer guidelines and safety standards
-Inspect and troubleshoot furniture parts to identify any defects or damages, ensuring every piece meets our high-quality standards before distribution
-Thoroughly clean and sanitize furniture items, including upholstery, wood surfaces, and metal components, using appropriate cleaning products and techniques
-Apply stain removers, conditioners, and polishes to restore furniture to its original beauty and preserve its longevity
-Perform meticulous inspections of refurbished furniture to identify imperfections, scratches, or blemishes, making necessary touch-ups and corrections to maintain a flawless appearance
-Ensure all furniture items leaving the refurbishment area meet strict quality control measures, leaving no room for errors
-Assist in organizing and maintaining the warehouse, optimizing storage space, and ensuring a safe and efficient working environment
-Collaborate with the warehouse team to receive and handle incoming furniture shipments, verifying the accuracy of orders and inspecting items for any damages
-Employ expert woodworking skills and techniques to repair and restore damaged furniture components, such as loose joints, broken frames, chipped edges, and watermarks
-Seamlessly blend repaired areas with the original finish, leaving no visible signs of restoration and ensuring a polished appearance
-Upholster and re-upholster furniture pieces, meticulously matching fabrics and patterns to maintain uniformity and aesthetic appeal
-Rebuild and reinforce furniture structures to ensure their stability and durability, enhancing their overall lifespan
-Utilize innovative repair methods and problem-solving skills to overcome unique refurbishment challenges, transforming heavily worn or aged furniture into refreshed, attractive pieces
-Implement sustainable practices in restoration, promoting eco-friendly refurbishment approaches and materials
