Job Description

Boutique law firm serving clients throughout the Hudson Valley is seeking an Associate Attorney who shares their vision, is looking to be part of their exciting growth, and can take the inquietude that comes with that growth. The firm's primary focus is elder law, estate planning, probate, and administration. Performance-based bonus is available. Company offers 2 weeks paid vacation (negotiable), 401(k), and unlimited sick days and follows holidays of the market.

Responsibilities:
-Lead paralegals and other staff
-Learn the wealth counsel and elder counsel documents, CLIO case management software, and Lexis Probate software, if not already familiar
-Delegate to paralegals and legal staff in a professional manner to accomplish tasks where appropriate, but remain responsible for ensuring the timely and professional completion of the work assigned
-Manage each of your client matters from start to finish and be responsible for client satisfaction

Job Requirements

Qualifications:
-Familiarity with creation of wills, trusts, POAs, and advanced health directives that meet client goals for their estate planning objectives and the requisite legal underpinnings
-Familiarity with the process of basic estate administration, including preparing and filing probate/administration petitions and all associated documents, guiding clients through the process to final closing, preparing/filing inventory of assets, working with accountants for preparation of tax returns, and preparing and filing requisite estate closing documents with the court
-Exceptional written and oral communication skills
-On-site position
-1-3 years of experience in estate planning
-Elder law experience is a plus
-Cover letter and writing sample
-Admitted to practice Active member in good standing with the New York State Bar
