Job Description

Legal practice, named one of the 2023 best companies to work for in New York and one of the fastest-growing regional law firms specializing in insurance defense with more than 50 attorneys in 6 offices in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, and Pennsylvania, is looking for several 1-5 year associate applicants admitted to NY Bar for its industry-leading general liability practice groups. These positions will allow associates to handle their own cases and gain invaluable litigation experience through depositions, court appearances, motion practice, and litigation with some of the best ABOTA (American Board of Trial Advocates) trial attorneys in the United States on the largest litigated matters currently ongoing in the country. Candidates must currently be licensed to practice in New York or have a scheduled admission date. This position has a hybrid remote schedule with 3 days in office and 2 days at home. Salary depends on experience and discretionary bonuses are available. Company offers medical, vision, dental, 401(k) with 4% match, paid maternity leave, paid paternity leave, and PTO.

Responsibilities:
-Represent clients in litigation defense matters
-Handle complex cases
-Draft pleadings, discovery, and motions
-Conduct legal research
-Make court appearances in courts in Westchester County
-Provide exemplary legal counsel and representation

Job Requirements

Qualifications:
-Admission to NY Bar
-Exceptional writing and proofreading skills
-Ability to analyze cases
-Ability to work on multiple matters with strict deadlines
-Basic knowledge and familiarity with NY and potentially NJ court procedures
-Billing requirements of 1950 hours annually (cases sourced by the firm), anything over is $50/hour to 2000 hours, and anything over 2000 hours is $75/hour
