Our client is hiring a Business Development Representative for the Defense Market Segments. The Business Development Representative will be responsible for leading sales and client-relationship management, tracking emerging trends within the defense market segment, recommending new products and services, and developing new strategic partnerships. They will participate in writing proposals and guiding long-term objectives to meet business needs and requirements in the defense sector. Work Schedule: This position can be remote if in a desired location. Huntsville, Alabama, or Washington DC are two examples. Travel is required up to 50%. Responsibilities:
Development and execution of the Strategic Plan for the assigned Defense business segment. These plans need to communicate detailed market assessments with near and long-term priorities, segments include Naval, Air Force & Army.
Develop and execute a go to market plan for each assigned defense market segment.
Participate in industry events, symposiums, and trade shows as assigned.
Individually manage customer centric opportunities through development with the aid of operational leadership where required.
Lead the pursuit and capture activity for market segment ensuring a timely response to the customer while moving the pursuit through the gated proposal cycle.
Provide focus in the capture activity to understand the competitive environment, the source selection process, criteria, requirements and the political landscape of the account.
Communicate to internal groups the outcome of the negotiations/proposals focusing on conveying the expectations set forth for each group (i.E., clear details, critical timeframes, and expectations that will need to be managed).
Customer Satisfaction: ensure that an enduring and sustainable support strategy is in place to ensure a long-term relationship can be achieved.
Manage and execute Policy Deployment action plans & countermeasures as assigned.
Lead all aspects of business development from customer engagement, contracts review, proposal development, road mapping, and financial capacity forecasting.
Lead all market research and proposal development efforts that align new business opportunities with the company s long-term strategic vision for the defense market segment.
Identify and respond to RFPs from defense primes for new and continuing program
New Business Capture:
Develop dynamic business presentations and proposals for customers and internal communications.
Keep potential customers apprised on company s new products and price development details on a regular basis.
Coordinates and Implements field sales scheduling and reporting, action plans, and accountability for sales opportunities.
Delivers presentations to company executives and management teams to highlight business or marketing opportunities or to present the results of new strategies.
Tactical Support:
Determine and implement key business development KPIs
Coordinate meetings, calls and communications between sales management, technical team, and customers throughout the business implementation and execution stages.
Reviews and analyzes sales performances against forecast goals to ensure company key results are being met on a quarterly basis.
