Seeking an experienced Field Service Technician to support our North America operation throughout The U.S., parts of the Caribbean, and Canada. Company is a leading supplier of primary and secondary packaging solutions to the pharmaceutical, biotech, and cosmetic industries. Position based in New Jersey but requires flexibility due to high amount of travel (70%). Hours are Monday - Friday, Day shift w/ flex, exact hours TBD. Salary is dependent on experience. About the position
A field service technician s position entails travel generally throughout the U.S., parts of the Caribbean including
Puerto Rico, and Canada to service, install, repair, and maintain the full range of equipment manufactured by the company. Occasional travel to Europe for training purposes.
Responsibilities:
- Demonstrates the proper operation of all designated equipment.
- Diagnoses, reports, documents, assembles, and repairs equipment.
- Prepares for use, performs operational checks, inspects and calibrates, modifies, tests and performs
complex assembly on all designated equipment.
- Makes a significant technical contribution to process improvement initiatives, which may include taking a
primary role in cross-functional teams.
- Performs on-the-job training on designated equipment and explains how a task is performed or
accomplished.
- Complies with all applicable OSHA/HSE, Best Practices, and Maintenance Policies, and assists in training other levels of technicians in these standards.
- Reviews equipment performance issues by analyzing data for root cause identification and recommends corrective action and continuous improvement to prevent recurring problems.
- Expends majority of effort and time on designated equipment but completes other duties as assigned.
- Travel to customer sites to perform installations, commissioning, modifications, upgrades, and training on short notices for both long and short lengths of time.
- Travels to and attends designated tradeshow during set up, show days and dismantle.
- Maintains good customer relations through phone or email follow ups.
