MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN

Job Description

Food production company is seeking to hire a Maintenance Technician. Must have demonstrated experience fixing production equipment and machines independently. PLC programming, etc. Is a huge plus. 1st shift hours. Benefits include Health, Dental, Vision, Life, 401K with Match, and Paid Time Off.


RESPONSIBLITIES:
Ensure machine uptime:
Preventive maintenance (PM):
Critical spare parts management: Maintain an organized inventory of critical spare parts to ensure quick response to equipment failures and reduce downtime.
Safety and compliance: Ensure production equipment, facilities, utilities, and grounds operate reliably, efficiently, and in compliance with all safety guidelines and government regulations.
Maintenance procedures: Oversee the development, revision, review, and approval of maintenance work instructions and standard operating procedures.
Maintenance activities: Coordinate and schedule maintenance activities to minimize downtime while ensuring optimal equipment performance and adherence to safety protocols.
Performance analysis: Monitor and analyze equipment performance data, CMMS metrics, and other maintenance KPIs to identify trends and drive continuous improvement.
Root cause analysis: Investigate and resolve equipment failures and performance issues using root cause analysis techniques.
Lean manufacturing: Utilize Lean Manufacturing principles, new technology, and specialized tools to enhance maintenance performance and efficiency.
Team development: Develop and implement training programs for maintenance staff to ensure they remain proficient in the latest safety standards, technology, and best practices.
Budget management: Manage maintenance spending and the yearly budget, ensuring alignment with company goals and cost-effectiveness.

Job Requirements

REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor s Degree preferred or equivalent work experience with a minimum of 7 years of applicable Maintenance work experience in heavy, or moderate - high-speed manufacturing/packing
Experience leading a team with a history of building trust and successfully coaching and developing direct reports
Proven ability to establish and manage relationships at all levels of the organization, including the most senior levels
Strong leadership, analytical, organizational, and project management skills
Experience with CMMS software (e-Maint preferred)
Knowledge of automation systems and robotics is a plus.
CMRP (Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional) or PMP (Project Management Professional) is desired but not required
Experience with regulatory compliance in food manufacturing or similar industries, including familiarity with FDA, OSHA, or other relevant standards
Experience implementing predictive/condition monitoring maintenance techniques
Experience leading root cause analysis, throughput analysis and upstream/downstream improvements
Experience using Microsoft Office and Google Docs
Proven experience preparing and leading capital projects
Bilingual in English and Spanish is highly desirable, as it will facilitate communication with a diverse team and support effective collaboration across departments.

Prolonged periods of working on production floor
Must be able to lift up to 20-30 pounds at times
Tolerance to working in varying temperatures
Ability to respond to emergency maintenance situations during off-hours, including nights and weekends if needed.
