Industry-leading professional cosmetic/beauty manufacturer, wholesaler, and retailer is seeking to hire an Associate R&D Cosmetic Chemist to assist in developing a robust pipeline of innovative stage, Halloween, beauty, and special FX makeup products for a top global provider of professional makeup products. Assist in the regulatory and production processes required for a scaled distribution. Hours are Monday - Friday 9:00am - 5:00pm, On site. Salary is dependent on experience. Responsibilities:
Work in lab to help develop new formulations under supervision and guidance of the Director of R&D. Adjust formulations based on customer & internal interaction, compliance requirements, and product specifications adherent to established timelines.
Maintain accurate real time entries on lab notebooks to ensure accuracy and completeness and update associated electronic data bases as necessary.
Review formulas for accuracy and compliance to briefs, blacklists, regulatory, and any other use requirements.
Test formulations to ensure stability and efficacy according to project requirements.
Log product specifications as required and maintain relevant data throughout each product s development.
Work with cross functional teams including: Logistics, Marketing, and Customer Service to ensure new products are timely and innovative.
Identify and understand variations in product, equipment and production procedures which may affect results.
Verify formula reproducibility before initial production run to ensure production scale up success.
Maintain working knowledge of all stages of finished goods production and all pertinent documentation.
Work with production personnel to determine necessary adjustments or corrections to production batches.
Code new raw materials and make recommendations as to raw material substitutions.
Maintain current knowledge of new raw materials and technology via meetings with suppliers & seminars.
Work within all internal systems and processes including but not limited to SAP, Dropbox, Office, etc.
Maintain adherence to cGMP s (current Good Manufacturing Procedures), GLP s (Good Laboratory Procedures), and SOP s (Standard Operating Procedures) for the personal care industry.
